Masa is a restaurant groups company that creates cultural atmosphere within its restaurants to serve specific kind of cuisines around the world.
The term masa means “table” in Turkish, which is the main inspiration for the idea of ‘’gathering’’ in this project. Kitchen tile like pattern in the logo also has a hidden message. These four ornaments are taken from the first edition of “Grammar of Ornaments” book written by Owen Jones in 1856. The logo combines Indian, Turkish, Italian and Chinese ornaments within itself and refers to the cuisines this brand serves.
The reason of four different font choice in the typeface is also another reference to the gathering of 4 different cultures. This range of font choice allows each letter to be used as logos of the company.
